Event Format and Procedures

WCF broom heads are not required. The 5 rock free guard zone and “no tick” rules will be in effect.

Format: 5 Team Round Robin with double loss provision.

  • Team listed first on draw chart delivers yellow stones and will practice first.
  • Last Stone in First End determined by two Last Stone Draws at the end of practice. Teams will deliver one stone with clockwise rotation, followed by one with counter-clockwise rotation, by two different players. Team with lesser (better) total distance receives last stone in first end.
  • Pre-game practice begins 30 minutes prior to scheduled draw time. Teams will have 9 minutes of practice time, followed by Last Stone Draws.
  • Each player must deliver two (2) LSDs over the course of the round robin, one (1) clockwise and one (1) counter-clockwise.
  • Games are 8 ends and untimed.

Playoffs

  • Tiebreaker games: the team who won their round robin game has choice of color or last stone.
  • Double Loss Provision games: the team who went undefeated in the round robin has choice of color and last stone in all playoff games.
  • In all playoff games, the team throwing first stone of the first end will have second practice.

Tiebreaker Scenarios

  • One team at 4-0 and one team at 3-1: Those teams play each other until one of them has two losses.
  • Three-way tie for first place at 3-1: Rank teams by Draw Shot Challenge (DSC). #2 plays #3, with winner playing #1.
  • Five-way tie for first place at 2-2: Rank teams by DSC. #5 team eliminated. #1 plays #4 and #2 plays #3, with winners moving to final.
