Board Statement: GCC’s Commitment to Inclusion

Recently, USA Curling issued a press release detailing changes they are planning to make to their Transgender Participation Policy and Guidance in response to the United States Olympic and Paralympic implementation of Executive Order 14201. Despite changes at national and international competitions, Granite Curling Club will continue to adhere to the 2021 revision of the USA Curling Transgender Participation Policy and Guidance.

Granite Curling Club of Seattle remains committed to supporting our transgender and non-binary curlers and will continue to enable their participation in our leagues and bonspiels.

We will not be restricting the participation of transgender women in women's or mixed curling leagues and bonspiels at our club due to their gender. We will also continue to provide a curling facility that allows our transgender and non-binary curlers access to safe and protective spaces that align with their gender expression.
