The Kozai Cup is an invitational event to celebrate the top volunteers at Granite Curling Club. The Kozai family has been integral to the Granite Curling Club from the very beginning, as one of our original founding families. The Kozai Cup was established to celebrate Betty and Cindy Kozai, two lifetime members recognized for their long-time contributions and volunteerism. Betty and Kearney Kozai put up $5,000 to help finance construction of the club building, and followed up with bake sales and other fundraisers during the early lean years. Betty took a special interest in new curlers, running the “Monday Early Bird” novice league and generally being a friendly and welcoming super-hostess. Cindy joined her Mom in the kitchen for countless bonspiels and together they kept the food coming all weekend, establishing a Granite tradition that is still going strong.
