Granite Curling Club Branding - voting is now open!

May 1, 2016 - 10:46am -- April Gale-Seixeiro

Hello, GCC Members. We are so excited to be sharing the 5 finalists for the GCC Branding Concept Contest. We had many, many entries, and would like to thank everyone who submitted their ideas. All entries were voted on by the GCC Branding Committee and the GCC Board of Trustees separately. Both committees' votes were then compared to select the 5 finalists for the general membership vote.

We are opening voting for two weeks, from Sunday, May 1 through Sunday, May 15. Each club member will have the opportunity to rank the 5 finalist from 1-5, 1 being their favorite. Rules are explained on the voting page.

Our plan is to announce the winner at the GCC Annual Meeting on Saturday, May 21st.

Happy Voting!

Thank you,
The GCC Branding Committee

What is our goal?

A committee has been put together to create a branding strategy for the Granite Curling Club of Seattle. Our purpose is to give the club a visual identity that is easily recognized locally by the Seattle community and nationally by the curling community. We want our competitive teams to be instantly recognized as being from Seattle at national competitions and we want to encourage loyalty and pride among our membership.

Why is this important?

We want a symbol that represents Seattle and/or the region. This will make it easier to market and promote the club. This includes advertisements for bonspiels, open houses, rentals and national events. It will also enable the pro shop to take advantage of merchandising opportunities. In order to accomplish our goal, the symbol should be one that is versatile enough to be used on a letterhead as well as a street sign.
