Overview

The 2019 USA Curling Mixed Doubles National Championship is an 5 day tournament to determine the team to represent the United States at the Mixed Doubles World Championship in Stavanger, Norway in April. Mixed Doubles is the newest Olympic curling event - it has only two players on a team as opposed to the traditional four.

Location

Granite Curling Club of Seattle in Seattle's Haller Lake neighborhood.

Players

Twelve teams of two players each from across the country are competing. Six competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics - three of whom were on the Gold Medal Men's team. Four are from Granite Curling Club. Last year's winner is competing.

Format and Schedule

The seeding process divided the teams are in two pools of six. Each pool plays a complete round-robin with the other teams in the pool on Wednesday to Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, the top three teams from each pool play each other in a single elimination tournament. Tie breaker games on Saturday morning resolve any ties as to who is in the top three for each pool. Complete Schedule

Media Event

We are holding a media event at the club on Wednesday, February 27 from 10 to 11:30 am. This is an opportunity for interviews and photos with competitors and representatives from the Local Organizing Committee and USA Curling.
