Cyndy Garzina, Karen Brattesani, Emily Bissonnette, Melanie Zahn, and Cathie Tomlinson won the USWCA Bonspiel playdown last night by defeating Laurel Haigh-Gore, Kathy Justice, Jenny Evans, and Joyce Lingg in the final of the double elimination tournament. Garzina et al. will represent GCC at the USWCA National Bonspiel here in Seattle February 19-23, 2020. In the sixth end, Garzina avoided a possible disaster by making a long angle raise to the button behind cover to steal instead of giving up a possible four.
