Brady Clark rink to represent US at inaugural Mixed World Curling Championships

- Washington's Brady Clark captured his 10th mixed title with wife Cristin Clark after defeating Wisconsin's Sean Murray, 9-2, on Saturday afternoon at the 2015 USA Curling Mixed National Championship in Blaine, Minn.

The Clarks, who won their first title in 2002, and teammates Sean Beighton (Seattle) and Jillian Walker (Seattle) will now represent the U.S. at the inaugural World Mixed Championship Sept. 12-19 in Berne, Switzerland.

Whether you are brand new curler or are looking for some extra tips after playing for a season or two, join us for our upcoming "Learn to Curl" sessions on 7pm April 7 and 6pm April 8, 14 and 16.

Spring League Registration Open

Spring leagues have been very popular in the past years, and we’re excited to bring them back this year with an additional league, Mixed Doubles on Tuesday nights at 6:30. Mixed Doubles, if you’re not already familiar, is a version of curling with one man and one woman per team and modified rules. We’ll also have open leagues on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings as well as Thursday mornings. All the open leagues are great for new curlers!

Ladies Spiel - Thank You!

Another Ladies Spiel is over and was a tremendous success thanks to many people. I am grateful for the help and support to the following people:

Konno, Sieg Teams Win State Club Championships

Konno Sieg
Miyo Konno, Kris Ikegami, Jiyoung Lee, and Claire Bonin won the Women's Club Championship while Lyle Sieg, Tom Violette, Ken Trask, and Steve Lundeen won the Men's. Both teams had no losses.

Congratulations Juniors and Seniors!

Congratulations to Team Connolly -Nick Connolly, Kent Suslavich, Kyle Lorvick and Ben Richardson for winning the Washington Junior State Playdowns! Next stop, 2015 Junior Nationals in Devils Lake January 17-24!!

In the Senior playdowns, 5 teams played down: Team Iwanick, Team Knievel, Team Pleasants, Team Sieg, and Team Smith

Team Sieg was victorious again, with a 4-0 record! Please congratulate - Lyle Sieg, Tom Violette, Ken Trask, Steve Lundeen, and Duane Rutan.

GCC Campaign for New Rocks

Be a part of club history!

The Granite Curling Club is starting the campaign for new rocks! The campaign will focus on the opportunity to engrave inscriptions on rock handles. This is a great opportunity to literally leave your mark on the club.

Our goals are to:

Have brand new rocks for September 2015
Raise $24,000 via donations to inscribe 80 rock handles

GCC Golf Tournament and BBQ - Saturday August 23

Thank you to all who participated in the brief survey regarding the annual GCC Golf Tournament, Saturday, August 23. Based on popular responses this year's format will be a shotgun start with golf carts included. For those of you not interested in golfing please consider joining us for a BBQ immediately following the round.

Club awards James Pleasants life membership, Lori Markham Service award

At Granite Curling Club's Annual General Meeting last Saturday, May 17th, the members reviewed highlights of the 2013-2014 season, went over our financial picture, and elected new board members. The major awards of the night went to James Pleasants, life membership, and Lori Markham, the Cruikshank award for service to the club. State champions and league winners picked up crystal.
