If you didn't play in this year's Holiday Spiel you missed a fun one. We had 32 teams with some old and new friends joining us from B.C, Oregon and California, plus we had some of the best holiday looks to date.

Brady Clark, Sean Beighton, Philip Tilker, and Darren Lehto took home $2,500 by winning the Seattle Cash Spiel on Thanksgiving weekend. The runners-up were Jeff Richard, Tom Shypitka, Jay Wakefield, and David Harper from Kewlowna.
The board would like to remind everyone that the Granite Curling Club has a no pets policy for the interior of the club. This is for reasons of health, safety and liability. Please do not bring your pets into the club. Service animals are an exception to this policy, of course.

Granite Curling Club’s Communications

The All-American Bonspiel at Granite Curling Club, Seattle, is November 2-3. This is a fun spiel and all women members of Granite are eligible because the club pays your dues to the USWCA. FYI, Canadian members of Granite are also eligible to participate.
Our Pro Shop is getting stocked up and ready for the start of leagues! We'll be opening the store for several days the next few weeks so you can come in, browse our new equipment, and make any purchases you need before the start of the season.

Tired of schlepping your curling stuff back and forth? If so a locker rental is the way to go. If you rented a locker last season simply note the number on your registration form, along with your payment and you're good to go. If you did not have a locker rental last year please email lockers@curlingseattle.org for information on available lockers. Please note, lockers without locks are not necessarily available and returning renters have first rights on a locker from the previous year.
Registration for 2013-2014 is now open. Please review the oversubscription policy. Completed registration forms can be mailed in, dropped off at GCC, or faxed in. Please remember that your registration cannot be completed until GCC has received your registration form, a signed waiver of liability, and payment or you have arranged for a payment plan.
The Summer Spiel is set to kick off Friday with 32 teams playing down. The finals bracket is something to behold as the teams play for skins in order to win some cash. The Junior Nationals Committee is hosting a Car Wash fundraiser Saturday from 10am until 5pm. So bring down your vehicle to wash and watch some curling as well! Hope to see you there~
Reigning national champion Brady Clark (Lynnwood, Wash.) has been named USA Curling's top male athlete for 2013.
Clark, 35, who curls out of Seattle's Granite Curling Club, skipped his team to its first men's national championship title and led Team USA to a ninth place finish at the 2013 World Men's Championship where he was the top ranked skip in shooting percentage throughout most of the round robin.
