The Granite Curling Club website will be down for maintenance on Monday, May 20 at 8:00 am. Operations should resume by 8:05 am.

Bonspiel Results: Under & Overs Bonspiel

We had a blast at our Star Wars-themed Unders & Overs Bonspiel hosted from May 4-5. This 2-day spiel requires teams to be composed of at least two juniors (U18). Thanks to our event organizers, and many congratulations to our victors!

Team Neumann and Team McLaughlin attend 5-And-Under Nationals

Kevin Neumann, Anna Jensen, Zach Kehres, and Karen Juhl [Team Neumann] won the 5-And-Under qualifier at Evergreen CC in late January, which secured them a spot in Nationals. Matt McLaughlin, Suzanne McLaughlin, Sonja Wesche,and Thorsten Frank [Team McLaughlin] secured their Nationals slot in the PNWCA 5-And-Under Qualifier hosted in November, and they've since picked up Will Dimmit as their 5th. Both teams will represent GCC at the USA Curling's 5-And-Under Nationals from April 24-28, 2024 in Chaska, MN.

Three GCC Members head to World Senior Championships

From April 20-27, three Granite Curling Club members will compete in the World Curling Senior National Championships in Östersund, Sweden.

Darren Lehto was asked to join Team Farbelow, the winners of the 2024 USA Curling Senior Men's Championship. He has competed against and with everyone on the team before, and he looks forward to representing the USA again on the Senior Worlds stage. Chad Johnson was asked to represent the Nigeria Curling Federation at the Senior Worlds Championships. He looks forward to taking this opportunity to represent his ancestral land as well as promote curling to a group of people who are underrepresented. Peter Garbes is curling with Team Philippines (Curling Winter Sports Association of the Philippines). This marks the historic debut of a Philippine team at a Senior Worlds curling event, and it's a step closer to full WCF membership for the association. Good curling to all three teams!

Bonspiel Results: April Spiel - Off to the Races

From April 4-7, we hosted our April Spiel - Off to the Races. We had over 216 curlers from 16+ curling clubs attend this 4-day event. Thanks to our amazing organizing committee for throwing together such an amazing event, and many thanks to our amazing kitchen volunteer, ice crew, and bartenders!

Team Rauliuk takes 4th at Women's Senior Nationals

At the Senior Women's National Championship, Lisa Rauliuk, Lori Markham, Jiyoung Lee, and a curler from the east coast finished the round robin tied for second place with a 5-2 record. They ended the event with a 4th place finish, a strong showing for GCC.
