In a close final, Cory Christensen and John Shuster defeated Vicky Persinger and Christopher Plys at the Mixed Doubles National Championship here at Granite. Up by one without the hammer, Christensen/Shuster managed to steal one in the final end to seal the victory - and a trip to the World Championship in Stavanger, Norway in April.
Unfortunately, due to weather conditions. the ladies spiel has been cancelled.
The Cat in The House is taking a rest, but will be back for the ladies spiel next year.
USA Curling holds an officiating clinic here in February. Saturday, February 2nd is the Level I course, Sunday, February 3rd is Level II. You can sign up for both. Use the link above for more information and signup.
Granite hosts the Mixed Doubles National Championship February 27th to March 3rd. New this year is, similar to the Men's and Women's championships, the twelve team field is decided by World Curling Tour points, winning certain bonspiels, and a challenge round.

The Priority Registration Deadline is 11:59pm on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Current members must register and pay by the Priority Registration Deadline to ensure best access to your desired leagues. Details on our league registration priority can be found in our League Over-Subscription Policy. Any paper registration forms must be received (not postmarked) by the Priority Registration Deadline to guarantee priority. Leagues begin this season on Thursday, September 27th!
The Cruickshank Award, named after club founder and second president Cliff Cruickshank, is awarded annually to the member who represents the true Granite Spirit of Curling, as demonstrated through their outstanding volunteer service to GCC. This year's recipient was Lisa Rauliuk. Lisa has been the driving force behind our Juniors program for many years, and continues to contribute both to the Juniors program as well as using her creativity and enthusiasm to help our bonspiels and throughout the club. Congrats, Lisa!

The Winter Olympics are over — but there's good news for curling fans. You don't have to wait four years to enjoy more thrilling curling action.
The Granite Curling Club in Seattle's Bitter Lake neighborhood hosts league play and will teach you how to throw stones, sweep and score like the pros.
But there is a learning curve.
“When you watch it, it looks really easy," said Jessica Schultz, an instructor at Granite Curling. "And then you come out and try it and you’re like — oh, that’s a lot harder than I thought it was."
We are very excited to announce the launch of a new program for club members to buy Granite Curling Club merchandise. We have partnered with Kotis, a local Seattle company, to create a website for you to be able to purchase items online at http://kotisibuy.com/granitecurlingclub. We have a variety of shirts, jackets, hats, and other items, embroidered and screen-printed, in men’s and women’s sizes, and at a variety of price points.
