Registration for GCC 5&U Bonspiel, scheduled for March 1-3, 2024, opens this Saturday, November 18th at 12 pm. Exclusively for Granite Curling Club members, this event is for curlers with less than five years of curling experience, in accordance with USA Curling's policy. This is a unique, individual sign-up event that always fills its 60 spots very quickly.

The 75th Annual USWCA National Bonspiel will be held at St. Paul Curling Club from February 14-18, 2024. Granite Curling Club is guaranteed one team slot; therefore, we are hosting a single-day playdown on Saturday, November 11 to determine which team will represent GCC in February. The weekend of Oct 7-8, we hosted the 2023 Knock the Dust Off Bonspiel! We had 64 curlers participate in this 4-end, 6-game guarantee event. It was lovely to welcome everyone back on the ice for the first bonspiel of the Granite CC season. Thanks to the spectacular organizing committee, volunteers, and ice crew for making this weekend's event possible!
Kaitie Kovach and Sam Sparks will lead two 90-minute sweeping clinics this fall. There will be two sessions (9 am and 10:30 am) per clinic with a maximum of 16 slots.

Sweeping Basics Clinic, Oct. 21
Focused on body/broom positioning and effectiveness; primarily on-ice instruction. Participants MUST wear grippers — slider sweeping will not be allowed.
Directional Sweeping Clinic, Nov. 4
Focused on how directional sweeping works and how to do it effectively. It will involve on-ice and off-ice instruction.
Join us for our Annual Knock the Dust Off Bonspiel, scheduled for October 7-8, 2023. Registration is individual, as bonspiel coordinators will form balanced teams from the participant pool. Mark your calendars for USA Curling's Annual Assembly from October 13-14, 2023. The assembly will be hosted in Bloomington, MN; however, all activities will be streamed and available through USA Curling's YouTube channel.
On Friday, October 13 at 5 pm (PT), there will be an Annual Members’ Meeting. The Annual Members’ Meeting will include a vote to ratify changes to the bylaws of the organization related to the proposed new USA Curling Membership Model. On October 14 from 8-2 pm (PT), there will be programming that includes seminars and panel discussions related to Member Club operations, outreach, retention, skills development, and awards presentations.
The Group Events Assistant Coordinator role is a part-time position aimed at helping the coordinator provide the best possible experience for our staff and clients. The position runs for ~10 months out of the year with minimal work over the summer while the curling club is closed. The employee is expected to complete a minimum of 6 hours of admin duties per week (during the season), and when interested/available, they can collect additional working hours as a host or instructor at our events. The wage is $23.00 per hour.
