Team Williams won the A-Event at Evergreen Curling Club's 5&Under qualifier held March 24-26 and they are headed to the National Championship from April 19-23 in Hibbing, MN! The team is: Mike Williams, Alex Chow, Rodd Kiliany, and Scott Laidlaw. As A-Event Runners-Up, Team Sanders is headed to Hibbing too! The team is: Erik Sanders, Will Dimmit, Neal Digre, Karen Dunkerley, Kate Fox. Nathan O'Reilly was also be playing at Nationals!
On March 11, Joel Larway, Doug Kauffman, Darren Lehto, and John Rasmussen won the Men's section of the Senior National Championships held here at GCC. They advance to represent the United States at the World Senior Championships April 22-29, 2023 in Gangneung, Korea. In the Women's section, a local team of Sheila Mariano, Lori Markham, Lisa Rauliuk, and Kara McBroom, made it to the playoff round.
The first draw of 2023 USA Curling Men’s and Women’s National Championships is February 5, 2023 at 7pm MST! Games can be watched on USA Curling's YouTube channel.

On Monday, the 2022 Men's Scot Tour returned from Scotland with the Herries-Maxwell Trophy. The tour played 32 draws plus two non-counting draws in 23 days across 18 facilities in Scotland - and outscored the opposition in total points. Each draw consisted of four or five games. The US tour group consisted of five teams (see https://2022scottour.blogspot.com/2022/12/introducing-teams.html).

We are hiring Instructors/Lead Instructors/Kraken Instructors in our continuing effort to grow our group events and outreach programs. We are looking for folks who can work a minimum of two days a week, during the day. This position runs from September to June and pays $23/hour after training!

Throughout the month of January, they will be attending social and curling events throughout Scotland to compete for the coveted Herries-Maxwell Trophy. The Team USA Men's Team, including current GCC member Luc Violette and former member Ben Richardson, won the silver at the recent World University Games at Lake Placid, NY. This competition included 140 curlers under the age of 25 from around the world. Congratulations also to the Team USA Women's Team for taking the bronze, and bravo to our own Head Icemaker Dave Leinweber for helping with the competition ice at the event.
The U.S. Senior National Championships are for athletes age 50 and above. The winners of this championship advance to represent the United States at the World Senior Championships!

U18 Nationals: Team Zheng made it to one of two tiebreaker games! Winning would have put them into the playoffs. The team is: Bowen Zheng, Alex Ge, Alex Lee, and Steven Hagen.
PNWCA Club Womens': Team Konno won the playdown and will represent the region at Club Nationals March 15-19, 2023 in Wassau, WI. The team is: Miyo Konno, Aryn Grause, Berit Tomten, Anna Jensen, and Ashley Duranleau.
PNWCA Club Mens': Team Shoesmith won the playdown and will also represent the region at Club Nationals. The team is: John Shoesmith, Chris Sherry, Ed Strachan, and Nathan O'Reilly.
