GCC Members Travel to Scotland for 2022 Scot Tour

GCC members Doug Potter and Keith Schreiber among the 20 members selected to represent the US at the 2022 Men's Scotland Tour. Throughout the month of January, they will be attending social and curling events throughout Scotland to compete for the coveted Herries-Maxwell Trophy. GCC Members Win Silver at 2023 World University Games

The Team USA Men's Team, including current GCC member Luc Violette and former member Ben Richardson, won the silver at the recent World University Games at Lake Placid, NY. This competition included 140 curlers under the age of 25 from around the world. Congratulations also to the Team USA Women's Team for taking the bronze, and bravo to our own Head Icemaker Dave Leinweber for helping with the competition ice at the event.

The U.S. Senior National Championships are for athletes age 50 and above. The winners of this championship advance to represent the United States at the World Senior Championships!

Results from January championships and playdowns

U18 Nationals: Team Zheng made it to one of two tiebreaker games! Winning would have put them into the playoffs. The team is: Bowen Zheng, Alex Ge, Alex Lee, and Steven Hagen.

PNWCA Club Womens': Team Konno won the playdown and will represent the region at Club Nationals March 15-19, 2023 in Wassau, WI. The team is: Miyo Konno, Aryn Grause, Berit Tomten, Anna Jensen, and Ashley Duranleau.
PNWCA Club Mens': Team Shoesmith won the playdown and will also represent the region at Club Nationals. The team is: John Shoesmith, Chris Sherry, Ed Strachan, and Nathan O'Reilly.

Registration opens on 1/13/23 at 2pm for GCC's 5&Under Bonspiel!

Registration for the 21st Annual (fun) 5&Under Bonspiel to be held on February 25 & 26, 2023 opens Friday, January 13 at 2PM!

This 2-day tournament is exclusively for Granite Curling club members that have curled five years or less (and no, 2020 does not count!) Surprise Proposal During the Holiday Spiel 2022

Matt asks Veronica to marry him

We were delighted to have a surprise wedding proposal on the first night of our Holiday Spiel. Matt Wait popped the question to Veronica Huerta after finishing their first match. Matt and Veronica curl at the Hollywood curling club in California. Together with Will Chen and Zach Altman, they entered the bonspiel as team Die HAAAAARD.
Congratulations Veronica and Matt! Best wishes for a happy marriage and good curling!

PNWCA Senior championships (Men’s and Women’s events) Signup

This event is open to curlers from Granite, Evergreen, Bend, and Inland Northwest Curling Clubs who are at least 50 years old as of 12-26-22. Note that this is a strictly regional competition, separate from the Senior Nationals -- but good cheer and great curling are guaranteed! Sign up by December 16th.

Constructing Curlers Junior Spiel January 7-8

Junior Spiel is open to all junior curlers. Non GCC members are welcome, but must provide proof of vaccination.

We will have 2 divisions - novice & intermediate. The novice division will be a combination of 6 end games - fun, wacky and regular. Some games will be played with Literocks and some with regular stones. The intermediate division will play 8 end games. Sign up is on an individual basis. Teams will be created for the Novice division. Intermediate division can sign up as a team.
